Rotary Numpad

This was a personal project to upcycle an old rotary landline telephone into a numpad for a computer.

This was a project I completed over a few months with the aim of teaching myself electronics, as this is a part of engineering I was less confident in. With no real guidance for this project, it involved a lot of investigating and testing to ensure I got things right, as I only had one rotary dial telephone to use.

This project was programmed using an Arduino Micro, and can be used by plugging it in to a USB A port of a computer to act as a standard numpad peripheral.

This project was a success, and I believe I am a more well-rounded engineer because of it, having learned a lot of invaluable electronic engineering skills. Should you wish to learn more about this project, or commission a similar product, please contact me.
